With the holidays right around the corner our real estate market is slowing down. How does this effect you? Well if you are a seller it means that it might take a little longer to get your home sold. If you are a buyer this means you might be able to get a little bit more home for your money. This just means you need to make sure you pick the right Realtor® to help you in your transaction. For the sellers out there who are deciding to list their property for sale you need to take time to interview a few agents and pick the one who knows how to get you home sold not just the one who will list your home at the highest possible price. This is a problem for so many sellers, they interview a few agent and they list their home with the agent who will claim they can sell it for a higher price than the others. This happens more time than it should and the house will sit on the market for over a year before they decide to drop the price where it should have been from the start and they finally get a contract on their house. There is a house a few blocks from my house the owners decided to list their property with a agent who claimed they could get them the highest price. It was over priced so it sat till the listing expired 6 months later then they put it back on the market a littler lower and this happened a few times till they dropped the price where it should have been from the start and it finally was able to get a contract on it but it fell through right before closing then it sat on the market for another month before they received another offer on the house. This happens all the time and it wasted these sellers 19 months. If they would have priced it right from the start they would have saved all that time and all those months of mortgage payments.
